Chuck Tupa showed his watercolors at The Gallery at Yahara Bay June 10 - July 29. Tupa's work features detailed, vibrant snapshots of Madison's well known cultural events and architecture.
Tupa grew up surrounded by art with both parents working as professional artists. His father, John Jerome Tupa, produced watercolors and exhibited his work at numerous art venues in the Chicago metropolitan area throughout the 1970's. Chuck attended many art exhibits and demonstrations as a young person.
"I never realized that later in life I'd also be painting and working as a full time artist."
By 2001, after refining some watercolor techniques learned mostly from his father and a large collection of advanced watercolorist books Chuck's work was accepted into Madison Art Guild and Portal Wisconsin.
Chuck found success in selling his work at his first art show in Spring Green,WI. Chuck's watercolors were selected to exhibit at Art fair ON the square in 2002, 2006, 2009, and 2010. His originals have sold to notable art investors and collectors.
